A lot of use are still waiting for that ultimate PPC with the fastest processor, largest RAM, SVGA screen, Quad band, wi-fi, bluetooth, light, small size, and high battery capacity with built-in GPS. But...an interesting thing rises here...

Do we realy want that SVGA screen? (640 X 480 ) http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/rolleyes.gif

For all those who says " SURE! " I would like to salute them. http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/waytogo.gif It's because the screen is the <span class="ev_code_GREEN">MAIN</span> interface with our little ones.

Before Microsoft Windows, there were alot of operating systems and even now there are alot too. But the main reason why Windows became that popular is because of its friendly <span class="ev_code_RED">INTERFACE</span> which they call widnow. Its so easy to use by most of the people and that explains its popularity.

So an <span class="ev_code_RED">INTERFACE</span> is one of the most important aspect in a device. In this article and unlike most, I will emphasize on hardware interfaces instead of software. http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/grin.gif

Studies showed that people who talk on the phone and drive at the same time, keep their heads straight and don't turn/look around when they are not on the phone. Even if they are using a headset/bluetooth. http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/sad.gif The worst thing is that initial first ring when all the driver's attention goes on finding the phone and press the answer botton http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/idontthinkso.gif

Is it in the pocket? http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/grumble.gif
Over the sidebreak? http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/grumble.gif
Near the car gear? http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/grumble.gif

http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/Articles/holder.jpg

For most PDAs and phones ARKON (http://www.arkon.com/bluetoothgps.html) has a stand that will keep your device close to your eyes. Personaly I have tried one of those window stands and they are so great and will never ever fall from the window due to its mechanical retention stick lock. The rod is so hard, that becomes resistant to the motion and vibration of the vehicle. I consider this holder as important as the seat belt. Both will provide safey that we all need for ourselves and family. http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/loveu.gif

http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/Articles/tap.jpg

You might be able to press the answer botton, but if you want to dial? http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/stop.gif Please don't tell me you will use the stylus while driving http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/crazydude.gif This simple piece of plastic by TrueTip (http://www.truetip.com/index.html) might save your life oneday...I would love to consider it as an essential interface. http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/clap.gif

http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/Articles/bt.jpg

If you want to answer the caller, use the Sony Ericsson HBH-660 (http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=us&lc=en&ver=4000&template=pp1_loader&php=PHP1_10188&zone=pp&lm=pp1&pid=10188), it can work for 5 hours without charging. Moreover, the caller's name and phone number will appear on the LCD. So when the phone rings, you don't need to search for the phone, you can simply accept or reject the call after you have a look at the LCD. http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/veryhappy.gif

On the other hand, if you are working and going to meetings every now and then, writing down short notes while you have your pocket pc inside your pocket screeming and begging you to be used. Think seriously about

http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/Articles/stowawaybtkb.jpg

considering this product. Think about how much time you can save if you enter your shortnotes directly to MS Word. Think how prestigious you will look like in that meeting. Click here and ThinkOutside (http://www.thinkoutside.com/stowawaybt_product.html)http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/bounce.gif

Well by now you have the PC, Keyboard, what's missing? http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/veryconfused.gif

http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/Articles/btmouse.jpg

That's write...ThinkOutside (http://www.thinkoutside.com/btmouse_product.html) made it again and brought this amazing bluetooth mouse that goes in harmony with that bluetooth keyboard.

Now oneday while you are walking on a sunny day http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/tongue.gif want to hear some music http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/veryhappy.gif worried about wires and connections? http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/worried.gif You pass by someone who is using this HP iPAQ Bluetooth Headset (http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/product_detail.do?product_code=FA303A%23AC3) that works for 8 hours without charging.

All the above devices work as <span class="ev_code_RED">INTERFACES</span>, because they make communicating with our PDAs/phones much easier. Moreover, they are universal. So incase you changed your device after a while, you can still use them with your new device.

Nice article Saad, I just rearranged the images to look better. http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/wink.gif

There are unlimited possibilities to interface with Pocket PCs there are so many solutions out there you just need to know which one is best to fit your needs.

For example I cannot part away from my retractable USB cable (http://pocketpcdubai.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/903108485/m/193109416) which I carry in my brief case all the time. You can use it to charge and to synchronize your device with your notebook or desktop.

http://pocketpcdubai.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/ga/ul/660102907/inlineimg/Y/SyncCharger_Cable.jpg

You can use it to connect to a USB Car Charger (http://pocketpcdubai.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/903108485/m/904109416) or a USB power adaptor (http://pocketpcdubai.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/903108485/m/134109416) and they are both universal.

Unfortunately it is for expert drivers as well.
And just to share some more info with you, I recently got my Canadian driving licence and during the preparation of the written exam, I found that in Canada there is no law yet that prevents you from using a phone while driving http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/crazy2.gif However http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/bangin.gif if you are involved in a car accident while speaking on the phone, you MIGHT BE:
<UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>Fined Can$1,000<LI>Get 6 demerit points<LI>Jailed for up to 6 months<LI>Driver's licence suspension for upto 2 years[/list] And this was one of the MCQs in the written test as well. But still a lot of people do it http://pocketpcdubai.com/Forums/smileys/lol.gif
