Salam
did any of you guys and gals XDA II, MDA II, Qtek 2020 and i-mate Pocket PC owners noticed that after few days of use of your device it becomes slow in showing the caller's names even though it is stored in the contcats list. If so here's the fix.
The Pocket PC 2003 OS appears to have a bug that can slow down the performance of a Pocket PC device, and can potentially cause ActiveSync delays. It has been identified that after every soft-reset of your device, a few extra "Notification Events" are added to the Notification Event Database on your system (This database holds system notifications such as alarms, timed events, etc.). After several soft-resets, a device can have several hundreds of extra notification events that can reduce the performance of a device
The offending notifications are labeled "SSTimeChange" and "conmgr.exe". Since the developers of these great tools did a lot of soft-resetting when they develop their software, and they discovered one of their 2003 devices to have over 600 notification events (when it should only have 50!).
The two applications below which was developed by scarybearsoftware will allow you to examine your system for these "extra" notification events, and will allow you to clear them from your system. they provide both utilities for free, for general public use.
Version 1.4 of Notification Checker will also remove the "IA_Caller_ID.exe" events from the Notification Event Database that seem to be duplicated on the Pocket PC phone-based devices. Only those events associated with the "RunAppAfterRestore" event status will be removed.
This application will display all the notification events in the system's database and will give you a total count of events. You will have an option to clear out all the "SSTimeChange", "conmgr.exe", and "IA_Caller_ID.exe" events from your database and get a new count, or create a log file of all the events.

Notification Clear Fix
This application will install in your "/Windows/startup" folder, and will be executed after every soft-reset of your device. This will ensure that the offending events described previously will not be present in your system's notification event database. This is the best way to clear out these events automatically.

Dear Othman,
Thank you, I've downloaded the Fix but have not installed it yet. We understood 'soft reset' would have refreshened the unit and cleared the memory not overload it with useless data.
Is there any 'side effects'? Are these old event logs/records? Where do they reside (RAM or ROM), any particular folder?
Do you think this bug causes some or all the issues discussed under ROM update?

This is working great. I have done that two weeks ago and installed the automatic one.
I do one primitive test and it shows me that this solution is working ...
After few soft resets you will notice that the device is slow .. Go to file explorer and click on Windows folder (This Folder has many files) you will notice that your device will need at least 10 seconds to show you the results. After the downloaded the fix it shouldnt take more than 2 seconds. Do you want to be sure ? Uninstall it ... do few soft reset and then try the filr explorer with Windows folder again .. you will notice that it is definitly slow.
This is working .. Thank you Othman

Dear Maher,
I had all my contacts on a 9210i too. I synchronised my 9210i with MS Outlook. After which I synchronised MS Outlook with my i-mate. Everything went well; contacts were transferred. But there was one problem; If you have added your own named fields or renamed some of the default fields under some contacts, they will not be transferred to MS Outlook from your 9210i. Only the default fields under each contact will be transferred. Does anyone know of any solution to this?

ppc<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> hello
for Permanent save ( Contacts )as far as i know this can be done using the new feature which is call Permanent which can be found under start/settings/system/permanet save and select Contact.
other part of the question how can you send your contacts to your PPC Amir mentioned one method but there are other options like third party tools like for example mPhone (http://www.mobem.com/products/mphone26/mp26features.php) and smart GSM (http://www.smartsoftworks.com/smartgsm/?go=1_1) i remebar few months ago i wrote two articles about these tools in Arabic which can be found Here (http://www.mobile4arab.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=138144) and here (http://www.mobile4arab.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=138144)http://www.smartsoftworks.com/imglib/kolaz.jpg http://www.mobem.com/images/mp26enpro.gif
i hope this answer some of your question but i'm not sure if these tools include the model of your Mobile nokia 9210i please double check.

hello
well, if you have SD/MMC Card and you start installing new software the system will detect this card while installing and will ask you if you want to install on the main memory or the Card.
and for the other part of the question i guess i have seen tips and tricks Click here (http://pocketpcdubai.infopop.cc/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=553609464&f=539604664&m=219608015)
