Isn't broadband internet expensive in UAE?

Found out that Alshamil DSL and cable internet is really expensive, 250 dirhams per month and that's only 384kbps if I'm not wrong. Subscription in Singapore is only around 100 dirhams and that's for a 1500kbps bandwidth.
What do u guys think?
